UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the concept for its new multi-million dollar hybrid supercar.
The high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz first showed the anticipated Mercedes AMG Project One ahead of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show on Sept. 11.
The hybrid two-seater’s engineering is based on modern F1 racecars.
It’s powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine in concert with four electric motors. The unit makes over 1,000 horsepower and can power the car to more than 200 mph.
The Project One will reportedly accelerate to over 110 mph in under six seconds.
Mercedes’ Project One will join other hybrid supercars on the market like the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
But supercars demand super prices, so this new toy will cost around $2.7 million.
Production is scheduled for 2019, but only 275 will be built and every one is already sold.
