Theater to Host Clown-Only Screening of ‘It’

UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — A theater is offering a clown-only showing of the new horror movie “It,” which happens to be about a killer clown.

The movie is based on Stephen King’s 1980s horror novel about a child-eating clown in a small town in Maine.

And, in case you’re interested, the clown-only creepfest will be held Sept. 9 at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas.

Only those dressed as clowns will be allowed into the showing, which will be preceded by a clown-themed pre-party. That party will include face painters for clown touch-ups, a photo booth, raffle and “other terrifying merriment.”

The theater’s creative director, James Wallace, asked, “What could be more awesome than watching “It” dressed as a clown surrounded by fellow clowns?”

Earlier this year, the same theater was criticized for its women-only screening of “Wonder Woman” that some called sexist. But, hopefully, no anti-clown activists will be getting their noses all red over this event.
