UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — U.S. tennis star Serena Williams has given birth to her first child, and it’s a girl.
Williams gave birth at St Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach on Sept. 1.
The arrival of her baby girl comes during the middle of the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament, the first U.S. Open Williams has missed since 1998.
Although, it’s not like she hasn’t played pregnant before, after all, she won her Grand Slam Singles Title earlier this year at the 2017 Australian Open, when she was pregnant.
The athlete shared a Snapchat selfie with the caption “20 weeks”, a few months after the championships.
After the news broke, Williams publicist, Kelly Bush Novak, confirmed Williams would be taking the rest of the 2017 season off but will be returning next season.
Willams and the newborn’s father, Alexis Ohanian, plan to marry in the fall.
