Malaysian Sex Crime Suspect Facing Up to 12,000 Years in Prison

UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — A man in Malaysia is facing a prison sentence of up to 12,000 years for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting his daughter.

The 36-year-old suspect is charged with 599 counts of sodomy against his 15-year-old daughter.

He’s also been charged with rape, incest and other sex crimes.

It took court officials in Kuala Lumpur, two full days to read all 626 charges against the man.

A prosecutor told Reuters, the sex offenses allegedly happened over two years after the teen’s parents divorced in 2015.

The father has pleaded not guilty to the crimes.

The victim reportedly only told her mother about the alleged assaults after she learned her father was planning on having her two younger sisters move in with him.

The case is being heard just months after Malaysia established a special court for sex crimes against children.
