West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice Leaves Democratic Party at Trump Rally

UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Appearing at a rally with President Donald Trump in West Virginia, the state’s Gov. Jim Justice announced that he’s leaving the Democratic Party that he said abandoned him and is joining the Republican Party.

Speaking to a crowd of thousands gathered at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington on Aug. 3, Justice said that the Democrats “walked away” from him.

Justice said, “I can’t help you any more being a Democrat governor.”

Justice also praised Trump, who he called “a good man” with “real ideas” that cares about America and the people of West Virginia.

First elected to office last year, Justice is a billionaire coal magnate and the wealthiest man in West Virginia, who has drawn comparisons to Trump.

He has identified as a Republican in the past and declined to endorse Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton last year.
