Thieves Steal $590,000 Worth of iPhones

UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Many people around the world want to get their hands on the Apple iPhone, including thieves.

Last week, a group of daredevils in the Netherlands pulled off a dangerous heist straight out of a movie. But it appears the police have finally caught up with them.

The AP reported Dutch police arrested five Romanian men on July 29, who are suspected of stealing $590,000 worth of iPhones from a moving truck.

The men, ages 33 to 43, allegedly drove a modified van up to a delivery truck along a Dutch highway in the middle of the night.

Two of them climbed out of the van and broke into the back of the delivery truck.

They then took boxes of iPhones and fled.

The men were arrested at a holiday park in the central Netherlands, where police also found iPhones and the van they believe was used in the theft. The suspects are expected to appear before a judge on Tuesday, August 1.
